OUTLET CHANNEL GATE
Completed in 1989, this structure is located east of the outlet next to county road 459th Ave bridge. When closed it prevents water from the Big Sioux River entry into Lake Poinsett.
The control structure was built to an elevation 1.0ft below the ordinary high water mark of 1650.5msl on the outlet of Lake Poinsett (1651.5msl).
Maintenance & operation of the gate is the responsibility of LPWPD.
